WXY Has Received a Green Good Design® Award for Our Work on New York City’s Curbside EV Charging Expansion Program

WXY is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded a Green GOOD DESIGN® Award for our work on New York City’s Curbside EV Charging Expansion Program.

Developed in partnership with the New York City Department of Transportation and it’s electric, the project tackles a key barrier to EV adoption in dense urban areas: lack of accessible charging infrastructure. Building on a successful pilot, WXY updated NYC DOT’s Design Guidelines and used a GIS-based methodology to identify over 500 optimal curbside locations across all five boroughs, with a focus on environmental justice, land use, and for-hire vehicle driver needs.

The updated guidelines integrate universal design and support new forms of electric micro-mobility, while the partnership with it’s electric enables private property owners to offer public curbside charging by drawing power directly from their buildings.

Thank you to The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies for this recognition.
